As a business advisor with decades of experience, I've noticed a troubling trend: the allure of "Bling Consultants." You know the type—those who dazzle you with the promise of easy success in the form of a side hustle, be it through a product, book, eBook, website, or affiliate marketing scheme. But here's the stark reality many of my clients face: just because it shines doesn't mean it'll sell.

Over the past few weeks, numerous business owners have approached me with a common quandary: why aren’t their products or services selling? This question often arises after they’ve been seduced by consultants who make entrepreneurship seem like a walk in the park. The hard truth is that launching and sustaining a successful business venture requires much more than just an attractive idea.

The key oversight here? A solid marketing and sales strategy. It’s not enough to simply put out a product or service into the world and wait for buyers to flock. Success demands a strategic approach to reach and engage your target audience effectively. This includes understanding their needs, crafting compelling messages, and using the right channels to connect with them.

So, my advice? Be wary of the bling. If someone tells you they have a good business idea, it’s a good idea to scrutinize it critically. Don’t just run away—run towards a strategy that includes diligent planning, execution, and continuous improvement.
